1-Day Tour: Loch Ness Book This TourItinerary
As we leave Edinburgh we take the road north heading to Pitlochry where we stop to see the Blair Athol Distillery.
We continue on towards Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, where we stop for lunch.
As we turn down towards Loch Ness we get numerous opportunities to see the Loch from various vantage points – maybe to catch a glimpse of the something in the water!
The next stop is Fort Augustus and a good place to stop for afternoon tea and watch the boats pass through the canal system.
Carrying on south we arrive at Fort William, and if the weather is clear, view Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the UK.
Glencoe is next and has some of the most stunning scenery in all of Scotland – the reason it has been used in many films.
After Glencoe we start to leave the Highlands and head to Loch Lubnaig. This is a perfect place to stop in late afternoon and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Stirling Castle is our final stop for the tour and the most strategic location in the course of centuries of battles between Scotland and England, – a must-see place.
